Full Job Description
This clinical lead for neonates will be responsible for a complex, highly specialist clinical case load providing advanced nutritional advice to ensure the best outcome for the patients. To work as a highly skilled practitioner within the multidisciplinary team for paediatric neonatology and undertake a range of clinical duties as part of this role. This will include but is not limited to the following: attending neonatal ward round and discharge planning meetings, providing expert dietetic advice for the patients across each of the neonatal services. The candidate will need to have excellent understanding and recent implementation on the current clinical guidelines for neonates.
This opportunity has arisen following a recent service review. Funding has also been secured for a band 6 post to work alongside the clinical lead. This post will be integrated within our current paediatric team and wider department but will hold strong links to the Neonatal MDT. The department will consider applications from dietitians with substantial paediatric experience, who would be considered for a band 6 to 7 progression post if the applicant has a small amount of previous neonatal experience. Some previous neonatal experience is essential. Duration of progression to band 7 dependant on current experience. Additional funding has been secured for other AHP's, making it a very exciting time to lead a neonatal service. We are constantly looking at ways to empower our team, drive Quality Improvement initiatives and provide a strong, positive team culture, with emphasis on wellbeing and resilience within the department.
