Full Job Description

As a Class Teacher, you will take responsibility for planning and delivering meaningful, engaging education for Key Stage 3 and 4 pupils working across a range of developmental levels. Your teaching will support learners with SEMH, communication and interaction needs, sensory and physical challenges, cognition and learning difficulties, and complex behaviours. Working closely with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, and leadership team, you will ensure high standards of teaching, pupil progress, and wellbeing. Learning won't be confined to the classroom-you'll deliver creative, inclusive lessons across the wider school environment, helping pupils build confidence, independence, and life skills. You'll also play an active role in whole-school development and support the professional growth of colleagues. What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and inspire a class within the Nurture and Communication & Interaction provision
  • Design and deliver personalised, flexible learning programmes for KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, abilities, and learning styles
  • Promote pupil wellbeing, engagement, and positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and support staff
  • Contribute to staff development and whole-school initiatives
  • Champion safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil voice

    We are looking for a committed, empathetic, and creative teacher with:
  • QTS or equivalent required
  • Experience teaching pupils working at EYFS to KS2 developmental levels, ideally within a secondary setting
  • Strong understanding of curriculum frameworks and strategies for additional needs
  • Ability to inspire, engage, and differentiate learning creatively
  • Excellent organisation, communication, and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive practice
