Full Job Description

One Small thing is entering an exciting phase as we embark on a new strategic plan this year. With the current political climate, momentum on tackling the challenges within the justice space and a focus on women and children, we are ready to embark on a transformation to maximise our impact and grow our work. Over the last seven years we have designed and built Hope Street, our residential alternative to custody model, which is now delivering real change for women and their children across Hampshire. We want to see this work scaled and replicated to provide more chances for women to avoid being sentenced into custody unnecessarily, and to prevent more children being separated from their mothers and entering the care system as a result. We are looking for someone who shares our passion and drive to deliver results. A solution focussed, action orientated individual with excellent commercial acumen, vision, and agility to hold a wide brief; leading complex negotiations and external conversations, alongside overseeing our core functions and strategic business planning. The new position of Chief Financial Officer, with One Small Thing, will support us to achieve these bold ambitions. We are seeking a visionary leader to drive the strategic financial direction and sustainability of the organisation, ensuring that the charity has the organisational capability, resources and infrastructure it needs to deliver its vision. You will lead the development of our business plan to accompany the charity's new strategy and work closely with the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Trustees, providing expert financial leadership and ensuring our financial strategy is aligned with our mission and long-term goals. This role can be based remotely, hybrid or from our London office. You must be able to travel to our London office in Vauxhall and to Hope Street Hampshire, which is located in Southampton, when required. You will participate in Board and SLT meetings, some in-person induction training and will be open to national travel and attendance at out of hours events as required. If you have the passion and drive to join us in our journey to change the justice system for women and children please click below to download the full recruitment pack and job description for this role.
