Full Job Description

Are you a qualified High Intensity Therapist/CBT Therapist? Or are you soon to qualify? Are you looking for a new challenge to work within a well-established NHS Talking Therapies service in Gloucestershire, then read on., The role will include delivering both face to face and remote appointments from one of four bases. Whilst you should be aware that we do consider flexible working patterns, this is dependent on service demands. We would, however, expect candidates to be working from their assigned base for an initial start period and long-term working from base dependent upon the demands of our face-to-face clients.

We are looking for enthusiastic, suitably qualified or soon to be qualified experienced CBT Therapists/ Hi Intensity Therapists, to work in one of our four expanding teams. The successful candidates will be BABCP accredited (

  • or meet BABCP accreditation standards and are actively working towards this).

The NHS Talking Therapies Gloucestershire is a County wide NHS Talking Therapies Service, made up of 4 clinical teams situated across Gloucestershire. We pride ourselves on our clinical model that focuses on delivering high quality care to our clients.
  • The Service provides evidenced based psychological interventions using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other approved therapies, both face to face and remotely whilst working in line with our local and national targets as laid out in the NHS Talking Therapies Manual. We pride ourselves in offering CPD, reflective practice, clinical skills and weekly supervision. We also offer external training including IPT, Couples Therapy for Depression, Long-Term Health Conditions, Clinical Supervision and Perinatal training. One-year Preceptorships are made available to newly qualified therapists., We have a skilled and dedicated workforce of over 5000 colleagues working in a diverse range of services over 55 sites and within people's homes. We strive to enable a welcoming workplace culture that builds and celebrates civility, inclusivity and diversity, while providing a sense of belonging and trust. Annual staff surveys, regular Pulse surveys and other engagement opportunities provide our people with lots of opportunity to tell us about their experiences of working with us. In the latest staff survey, 61% of colleagues gave us their views. It was great to hear that:
  • 72% of colleagues would recommend the Trust as a place to work, ranking us 1st for Provider Trusts in the South West region on this question.
  • 76% would recommend the standard of care provided in our services if a friend or relative needed treatment, also ranking us 1st in the South West region.
  • 81% said that care of patients and service users is the Trust's priority, compared with an average in comparable NHS Trusts in England of 64%.
  • This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
