Full Job Description

Here in Calderdale, we are looking to recruit a Family Connections Worker to work within our children Looked After Service services in the provision of supporting, facilitating, and supervising family time between children in the care of Calderdale local Authority and their parents, extended family members and their friends.

The key role is in supervising the family time to ensure that the child is kept safe but also to support the parent in creating an enjoyable space and time from which both the young child and parent can take away from this time.

Family time take place in a variety of venues across Calderdale and occasionally outside the authority. This will include children between the ages of 0 and up towards 16. You may be asked transport some children between their foster home and the venue for family time. As part of the team supporting the achievement of permanency for children your observations completed within written reports following family time will support the overall decision making for children in our care.

Do you have experience working with children and families?, The ideal candidate would be someone who would have experience of working with and alongside families and children and would have experience and skills in communication and problem solving.

Must hold a full driving licence and have a car available and insured for work.
