Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 7 Senior Clinician to provide day-to-day clinical leadership within the Alcohol Care Outreach Team, alongside the Addiction Care Team at King's College Hospital working as part of the Integrated Alcohol Care Pathway This is a senior clinical role combining hands-on work with people who have complex alcohol-related needs, operational oversight of clinical activity, and line management of designated staff. The post-holder will also contribute to a defined programme of service development projects that span both hospital-based and community alcohol care. The post offers an opportunity to take a leadership role within an innovative, integrated pathway that works assertively with people who experience repeated alcohol-related harm, supporting improved engagement, continuity of care and safer outcomes across acute and community settings.,

  • Provide day-to-day senior clinical leadership within the Alcohol Care Outreach Team, ensuring safe, effective and high-quality care.
  • Hold a small caseload of individuals with complex alcohol-related, mental health, physical health and social needs.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk management and care planning, working collaboratively with service users and partner agencies.
  • Provide clinical supervision, line management, appraisal and development support to designated staff.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex clinical and operational issues within the team.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement work across the integrated ACT and ACOT pathway.
  • Work closely with hospital-based teams, community services and third-sector partners to support smooth transitions and joined-up care.
  • Support good governance, data quality, safeguarding practice and adherence to Trust policies and standards.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Service Lead where appropriate and within agreed scope.
