Full Job Description
The post-holder will support the clinical leadership and management of theOrthoptic services and orthoptic staff across Edgware Community Hospital, Barnet Hospital & Chase Farm Hospital, as mutually agreed with the HeadOrthoptistAs our department is an accredited clinical undergraduate orthoptic trainingcentre, the post holder will also share Lead Clinical Tutor duties with otherLead Orthoptists across our department sites, to actively support theundergraduate placements. Join Our Team If you are looking to join a well supported, dynamic Orthoptic team on a part-time basis, this opportunity could be for you. We are seeking an experienced orthoptist to join our multidisciplinary team for a 12-month, fixed-term maternity cover post (15 hours per week). Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Provide a highly specialised orthoptic service, including the daily assessment, diagnosis, and management of a full range of paediatric and adult patients.
- Leadership & Management: Support the clinical leadership and management of orthoptic services and staff at Edgware Community Hospital, Barnet Hospital, and Chase Farm Hospital (as agreed with the Head Orthoptist), Deliver expert clinical care through the advanced assessment diagnosis and management of complex orthoptic cases.
- Actively drive the development and leadership of specialised pathways within both paediatric and adult services
- Collaborate with senior colleagues to lead and deliver high quality clinical education and training
- Clinical Education: As an accredited undergraduate training centre, you will share lead clinical duties with other lead orthoptists to support and oversee undergraduate placements.
