Band 3 Medical Secretary -Liver Medicine

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated Medical Secretary to join the Liver Medicine team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

This is a key role within a fast-paced and specialist service, providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will play an essential part in ensuring the smooth running of clinics and patient pathways, contributing directly to the delivery of high-quality patient care., The post holder will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Liver Medicine team, ensuring the efficient management of clinical workload and patient pathways. Duties will include the timely preparation and completion of clinic letters and patient correspondence, responding to telephone queries from patients and healthcare professionals in a professional and courteous manner, and managing incoming post by opening, sorting, and directing it to the appropriate clinician. The role also involves uploading and maintaining accurate documentation within the clinical portal, ensuring records are up to date and compliant with Trust standards. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly, providing cross-cover for colleagues as required to support service continuity and maintain a high standard of patient care.
