Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrator to provide essential support to the Renal Anaemia Service and the Renal Assessment Unit (RAU). This role is central to ensuring safe, timely and effective patient care across two busy clinical areas.

Working with the Anaemia Clinical Nurse Specialists, you will manage prescription monitoring, support outpatient clinics, arrange appointments, liaise with patients regarding treatment reviews and IV iron therapy, and use the Renal Proton system to track blood results and maintain accurate records. You will coordinate referrals, prepare correspondence, and ensure smooth delivery of anaemia treatments to patients and clinical teams.

Within the RAU, you will support daycase and inpatient admissions for renal procedures including line insertions, blood test followups and imaging reviews. Responsibilities include booking TCIs, arranging admissions and discharges, organising followup appointments, and supporting the Renal Access Team through effective communication with Interventional Radiology and other partners.

Your contribution will prevent delays to patient treatment, reduce administrative pressure on clinical staff, and ensure the efficient running of both services. This role is vital in maintaining accurate clinical data, supporting patient flow, and enabling staff to focus on delivering highquality care., Provide administrative support to the Renal Anaemia Service, including managing prescriptions, monitoring blood results via the Renal Proton system, and coordinating treatment reviews.

Support outpatient anaemia clinics by organising appointments, maintaining accurate records and preparing documentation for IV iron and anaemia treatments.

Liaise with patients, GPs and clinical teams to arrange prescriptions, followup reviews and treatment schedules, ensuring timely communication and reducing delays in care.

Manage and track referrals into the Anaemia Team, ensuring all patients are processed efficiently and appropriately.

Prepare and send patient correspondence related to anaemia treatment, IV iron arrangements and clinic outcomes.

Provide operational and administrative support to the Renal Assessment Unit (RAU), including booking TCIs, arranging daycase and inpatient admissions, and supporting the Renal Access Team.

Coordinate with Interventional Radiology to arrange procedures, ensuring all clinical and administrative requirements are completed.

Oversee admissions, discharges and followup appointments for RAU patients, ensuring accurate recording of outcomes and smooth patient flow.

Support clinical teams by managing essential administrative tasks to allow nursing staff to focus on direct patient care.

Ensure documentation accuracy and timely processing to prevent delays in prescription management, medication delivery and patient treatment.
