Full Job Description

The post holder will have previous NHS experience and deliver high-quality audiology services across the county, working in both main centres and outreach clinics. The role includes routine adult diagnostic assessment, hearing aid fitting and verification, rehabilitation, and ongoing device management. The post holder will also provide diagnostic support to ENT clinics and contribute to paediatric assessment pathways under supervision. The role requires autonomous practice within defined protocols and a commitment to patient-centred care., Clinical Duties

Undertake routine adult audiological assessments including pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry, and acoustic reflexes.

Fit, programme, and verify digital hearing aids using Real Ear Measurements (REM) in line with BSA/BAA guidance.

Provide rehabilitation, counselling, and communication strategies to support hearing-impaired adults.

Manage follow-up appointments, repairs, troubleshooting, and ongoing device optimisation.

Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with Trust and national standards.

Provide audiometric assessments to support ENT clinics, contributing to differential diagnosis.

Communicate results clearly to ENT clinicians and escalate urgent findings appropriately.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of diagnostic outcomes.

Paediatric Audiology

Assist in the assessment of pre-school and school-aged children under supervision.

Conduct age-appropriate tests such as VRA, play audiometry, and tympanometry, under supervision.

Support early identification and management pathways for childhood hearing loss.

Service Delivery & Professional Practice

Work across multiple sites, including outreach clinics, ensuring service quality.

Manage own clinical caseload, prioritising effectively and working independently within protocols.

Participate in clinical audit, service improvement, and quality assurance activities.

Maintain professional development in line with HCPC/AHCS requirements.

Adhere to BSA, BAA, and Trust clinical guidelines.
