Full Job Description
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support the successful delivery of engineering projects across their full lifecycle. Working closely with Project Managers and technical teams, you will be actively involved in the day-to-day delivery of both full projects and small work packages, helping to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in project management within a technically complex and fast-paced environment, offering hands-on experience and clear opportunities for development and progression.
Reporting to: Project Manager or Programme Manager
What You Will DoSupport Project Managers in planning, executing and closing projects, including the management and delivery of defined work packages or smaller standalone projectsMaintain project plans, schedules and key documentationTrack progress against milestones, budgets and deliverablesCoordinate with engineering, production and support teams to ensure smooth deliveryCoordinate with Project Management Office with monthly project reporting cycleIdentify and escalate risks, issues and dependencies in a timely mannerSupport customer and stakeholder communication, including reporting and updatesAssist with resource planning and workload coordinationEnsure compliance with internal processes, governance and quality standardsContribute to continuous improvement of project management practices
What you will need
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Project Management or a related fieldExperience supporting delivery of larger projects or experience delivering smaller projects and defined work packages.Strong organisational skills with attention to detailGood communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectivelyA proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, take ownership and deliver with urgencyCompetence in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and Project planning tools)An interest in developing a career in project management
