The successful candidate will have practical skills and a 'can-do' attitude, with experience in general maintenance or site work being desirable but not essential. You will understand the importance of health, safety and safeguarding in a school setting, be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and show a commitment to creating a positive, safe and welcoming environment for the whole school community. The working hours (37 per week) for this post will be directed by the Estates Manager using a site team schedule; however, the core working hours for this post will remain within the hours of 6.00am and 6.30pm. The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake or arrange repairs/maintenance as instructed by the Estates Manager
  • Assist in the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school building and grounds
  • Support with opening and locking the school premises
  • Monitor and replenish stock levels of cleaning and maintenance supplies
  • Ensure the site is clean, safe and hazard free for pupils and staff, reporting any issues to the Estates Manager
  • Be a team player with a practical, hands-on approach
  • We can offer:
  • A hard-working Leadership team dedicated to the success of our students
  • An inclusive approach to learning
  • High-quality Continuous Professional Development opportunities
  • Opportunities for further development and training
  • A healthy work-life balance
  • Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free, on-site parking
  • Excellent employer pension contribution scheme.
  • We would warmly encourage any interested candidates to visit our school setting. In order to do so, please contact our Recruitment team on to make the necessary arrangements. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to related online content checks, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check as well as successful completion of a probationary period. Exceed Academies Trust strives to be an employer of choice. We are an inclusive and diverse multi academy trust and ultimately, our aim is to employ a workforce that reflects the communities it serves.
