Full Job Description

Kingshurst Caterpillars is a privately run, well established and well equipped pre-school setting, with a safe environment for children to learn, play and thrive. Working in the Playgroup will provide good opportunities to work alongside experienced staff with a wide range of children some of whom may have additional needs

  • Ensuring all aspects of the playgroup routine comply with the rules for safety and cleanliness
  • Assisting and providing safe, creative and appropriate ways
  • Assisting with the provision of full care for the children including preparing refreshments
  • Helping to set up the playroom and outdoor are and tidy away at the end of each session
  • Attending training courses for example. First Aid, safeguarding
  • Adhering to all policies within the setting
  • Keeping confidential and information regarding the children their families or other staff
  • Attending staff meetings is required
  • Carrying out responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities' framework
  • Assessing, monitoring and recording the progress of the individual children's development including maintaining children's dairiesTraining to be Provided
  • Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. They will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day. You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
  • Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • , Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid

    Level 2 Functional Skills in maths, and English (if required), Disability Confident
