  • £20,669 per year (based on a full-time salary of £30,396)

  • 25.5 hours per week

  • Fixed-term contract for 1 year with possibility of extension (subject to funding)

  • Often the first point of contact for our clients in Lambeth and Southwark, the Information and Advice Service aims to provide support for residents who may be experiencing social-isolation, low mood, anxiety or depression. The service handles over 1500 enquiries a year from people seeking support for a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, advocacy, family support, disability and legal advice in addition to accessing our mental health and befriending services.

As one of two Advice Service Coordinators, you'll support volunteers to ensure that the service is running efficiently. You will be in regular contact with clients both interested in and accessing the service to make sure they have adequate support. This may include referrals and signposting to additional or alternative mental health and social support services.

You'll also maintain the online Community Information Network (COIN) directory, which includes vocational and social opportunities for adults with long term health conditions who are looking for paid work, to move closer to their vocational goals or consider social and leisure opportunities.

Applicants should have experience of providing specialist advice in benefits and housing, managing a diverse caseload and providing advocacy, and possess effective communication skills. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
