This post is suitable for someone who would like to develop their skills into/or has already been working at the level as an Advanced Speech and Language Therapist.

We are a friendly and supportive team committed to providing effective services to children and young people (CYP) in Peterborough.

With a strong ethos of clinical support and supervision, our dynamic team provides evidence-based advice, training and interventions to CYP, their families and education staff.

The Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service is a 0-19 service which assesses, supports, and provides therapy to children with speech, language, communication and feeding difficulties. We aim to provide services at a universal, targeted and specialist levels., The delivery of specialist Speech and Language Therapy for children and young people who stammer which includes children who are over 7 and/or complex in presentation across the service.The post holder will be responsible for the autonomous assessment and management of a highly specialist and complex caseload of young people who stammer and have other communication disorders which may present with additional diagnoses and emotional and behavioural difficulties. The post holder will be responsible for management of all referrals relating to children who stammer who are over 7 years of age and have an oversight of the stammering pathway.The post holder will be required to use their specialist clinical skills in the planning, development, and evaluation of the Stammering pathways, including contributing to defined projects as delegated by the Clinical Lead or Service manager. This involves supporting the local team in effective and equitable clinical decision making, ensuring that a good
quality service is delivered and maintained in balance with the needs of the entire service. The post holder will be required to use your specialist clinical skills to develop and provide a range of training packages relating to supporting the communication needs of service users, to equip support staff and others with the specialist communication skills required to work with them.
