Full Job Description

In conjunction with the haemoglobinopathies teams across Barts Health NHS Trust the post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of a high-quality sickle cell and thalassaemia service at Newham and Whipps Cross Hospital.

Then this post is the opportunity for to showcase your skills, to scope and design pathways across the network and impact the health outcomes of our service users., In conjunction with the haemoglobinopathies teams across Barts Health NHS Trust the post holder will be responsible for the ongoing development and delivery of a high-quality sickle cell and thalassaemia service at Newham and Whipps Cross Hospital.

Barts Health NHS Trust has been designated as a Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre for both sickle cell disease and for thalassaemia and other rare inherited anaemias. The Royal London Hospital is the host site within the Trust and this post, based at Newham and Whipps Cross Hospital London provides an exciting opportunity to join the team.

Within the network, there are Local Haemoglobinopathy Teams at Whipps Cross hospital and community teams working with Newham University hospital and close working with those teams is expected.

To provide nursing leadership and coordination of care across inpatient, emergency and day care services for patient focused services

To provide clinical leadership and practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision making on the ward, day unit and in clinics

To review and lead the implementation of individual care plans of patients in day unit, emergency care and inpatient settings.

To engage and help develop competency packages for each patient pathway and ensure all relevant staff members in the emergency department and on the wards are trained and assessed as competent.
