0.6 (24 hours per week), term time only King Alfred School (KAS) is a progressive independent school in idyllic grounds in North London. Our independence means that we can be take a holistic approach to education, value the progress young people make in every area and experiment with innovative ideas. We are looking for an Access Arrangements Coordinator to provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Learning Support Department, particularly in relation to Access Arrangements for public exams. The person currently in post is moving to a different role internally but will be able to support the appointed candidate with the relevant training in September. The post-holder should have the following skills/experience: Essential:

  • Able to work in an organised and methodical way.
  • Able to prioritise and manage workload, working effectively and calmly under pressure.
  • Able to work quickly, accurately and to deadlines.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • ICT literate, specifically in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to relate well to school staff, students of all abilities, parents, and carers.
  • Able to supervise individual or small groups of students.
  • Open and constructive, accepting of feedback and always willing to learn.
  • A 'can do' positive approach: energetic and enthusiastic with an excellent sense of humour.
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the JCQ guidelines on Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments.
  • Experience of working with students with specific learning difficulties.
  • Experience of working in a school setting.
