Part Time Competitions Coordinator/Referee (Ref:comp002) 

Location: Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre 

Salary: £8.34 - £8.85 per hour  

LED Leisure Management Ltd (LED) is a Social Enterprise that provides a range of diverse cultural, sporting and physical activities throughout East Devon and South Somerset.  

We are now seeking a Part Time Competitions Coordinator/Referee to join our dynamic organisation.  The ideal candidate should have completed Part 1 of the LTA Basic Referee Course and LTA Competitions Organiser course.  Working hours will an average of 10 hours per month, plus additional hours for refereeing tournaments.

Job purpose

Manage, promote and referee a competitive programme for players of all ages and standards from Mini Tennis to adults, (including internal competitions, leagues and tournament education) at Exmouth Tennis & Fitness Centre / Phear Park. 

Essential attributes

  • LTA Competitions Organiser

  • LTA Basic (part 2) referee course/ Part 1 with commitment to Part 2

  • Sound understanding of the tennis competitive structures.

  • Excellent knowledge of the rules of tennis

  • Excellent organisation skills

  • Enjoy challenging situations and a systematic approach to problems

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to deliver and maintain exceptional levels of customer care     

  • Able to work as part of a team 

Desirable attributes     

  • LTA Officials accreditation

  • Minimum requirement of LTA Level 1

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • Experience of refereeing / organising tennis competitions

  • Experience in the use of TTP

  • Experience in developing and implementing tennis development programmes

  • Experience in the use of IT systems

  • Self-starting, competitive, imaginative, enthusiastic, self confident, inspiring, logical, systematic and precise.
