The role will be varied and will include aspects of web development as well as providing first-line IT support to customers and staff.
Answering the telephone and assisting users within their workplaces with common issues relating to hardware, software, web applications etc.
You will learn to use a large variety of tools to resolve IT issues - including password resets, restoring lost files, setting up new user accounts and a countless variety of complex and intriguing problems that require a keen, enquiring and logical, mind to troubleshoot.
You may also be required to build and maintain PC's, manage internal hardware and purchase equipment.
You will spend long periods of time at a computer or on the phone.
Hours of work - 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Qualifications & Skills
required - must have Maths, IT and English at GCSE grade A or B. Must demonstrate a good understanding of computers and networks and need to be confident and have good communication and written skills.
Training via City College Norwich leading to the OCR Level 2 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT & Telecoms Professionals
Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles,
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
Functional or Key Skills in Mathematics, English and Information and Communications Technology.
