Very busy and rapidly expanding scrap metal merchants in Hertfordshire are looking for the following:
Health and Safety Manager
The successful applicant would be fully conversant with the legislative requirements placed on a busy and expanding scrap metal recycling plant. This will include carrying out and reviewing risk assessments for existing processes and new processes and equipment. This will also require the drafting of Method Statements in some instances. Responsible for maintenance of the management system that covers 18001,14001 and 9001 registrations and taking the business to compliance with the 2015 versions of these standards. Qualified and experienced in NEBOSH is essential and ideally IOSH. Required to maintain all necessary records to enable us to demonstrate our compliance to these standards and legislative requirements during internal and external audits and visits by regulatory bodies like HSE and EA. Lead the team in accident prevention and investigation activities.
The successful applicant will need to be a strong leader and communicate well in all forms at all levels, in particular with other members of line management to ensure a safe operating culture pervades the workplace.
A full understanding of 9001 & 14001 is desirable but not essential. A strong working knowledge at the implementation level of at least one of the recognised management standards is essential. Pay negotiable dependent on experience.
