An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious senior reporter to take the lead in running the prestigious Herts Advertiser media operation.
We want someone who combines sound news judgement and multimedia awareness to build on our 161-year reputation for insightful and informative community journalism.
We are looking for a self-starter with drive and enthusiasm, who is keen to begin the next step of their career reporting on life in the lively district of St Albans from our 14th century offices in the heart of this beautiful and historic city.
They will help to shape the brands content across all platforms, and adhere to our policy of putting our audience first in everything we do.
We are keen on recruiting someone who will be comfortable utilising social media in news gathering and engaging readers, appreciates the benefits of video as a way of telling stories, and is aware that the best stories never fall into your lap.
It is essential that you will have passed the NQJ senior examinations and are in possession of a full valid driving licence. We are looking for outstanding candidates who are comfortable reporting on all aspects of community life, have a wealth of strong ideas and a portfolio bulging with first-rate stories.
The successful candidate must be prepared to move onto the patch before beginning their employment.

The group, which was founded in 1845, has its roots in Norwich where most of its back office functions are located and has frontline staff based in the communities that it serves across the UK.
