Apprentice Pharmacy Order Clerk

A 12 month fixed term Apprenticeship contract
Hours of work - 37.5hrs per week, 08.30 - 17.00 Monday - Friday
Working in the Purchasing Office in the Pharmacy Department. Main duties and responsibilities include:
accurately process orders ensuring that contract lines have been ordered where applicable, ensuring correct quantities and suppliers have been used
placing orders with manufacturers and wholesalers by telephone, fax or electronically using a web based ordering service.
sourcing products using company literature and websites when required, and assist with the sourcing of product replacements during manufacturer delays or shortages under the supervision of the Senior Pharmacy Technician
on receipt of a valid delivery note, match up and book in Homecare medicines onto the Pharmacy Stock Management System, ensuring any discrepancies are highlighted and resolved.
booking out homecare medicines to named patients through the Pharmacy Stock Management System, ensuring the correct budgets are charged.
generating orders for Homecare medicines from prescriptions, ensuring all information required by Homecare supplier is accurate and complete.
assisting with the maintenance of the database on the Pharmacy Stock Management System
assisting with the claiming back of monies from manufacturers for off contract purchases when necessary.
ensuring all invoices and credit notes are passed promptly, reporting discrepancies and liaising with finance where necessary.
pricing up resale orders and private prescriptions.
ordering medical gases when required.
ensuring that all documentation is completed, matched and filed accurately, and that filing systems are kept up to date and in good order
Qualifications & Skills required - A minimum of 4x GCSEs at grade D or above (or the equivalent) to include English and Maths. As part of the pre-employment check process, proof of qualifications will be required. Should have good keyboard skills and
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Need to be able to work as part of a team.
Training via Gt Yarmouth College leading to a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business and Administration to be achieved within the 12 month contract.
