Apprentice Catering Assistant

An exciting opportunity to earn as you learn while working at Great Yarmouth College, in our Catering Services Department.
The apprentice will work within the two food outlets throughout the college. The role will involve the preparation and cooking of a wide variety of hot and cold snacks, cakes, nutritious meals, hot and cold buffets and nursery meals.
The apprentice will observe and adhere to kitchen codes of practice and work in a clean, timely and methodical manner.
Working closely with retail chef in preparing and cooking food (as described above) ensuring that all preparation and service areas are cleaned adhering to the in house cleaning schedule.
To provide support to the Hospitality retail team.
To deal professionally and effectively with customer requests and dietary requirements.
To maintain paper based records in a timely and accurate manner in line with health & hygiene legislation.
To comply with Health & Safety regulations as outlined by the college at all times.
To complete the Apprenticeship programme within the timescales outlined by the Hospitality assessor.
The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to the post may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.
You will be working in a busy kitchen environment, which can be extremely hectic.
All appointments are made subject to the satisfactory completion of medical, police and reference checks, prior to appointment, and you will be required to complete a Criminal Records Bureau application form and identity evidence must be provide

Total Weekly pay: £129.50
Hours of work: 37 hours with varying shift patterns
