Appointment of a Non-Executive Director
University College London Hospitals NHS Trust (UCLH)
UCLH is proud to be one of the top performing hospitals in the country with a reputation for delivering top-quality patient care to our local communities and beyond. We are committed to providing excellent education and delivering leading edge research.
Non-Executive Directors make an important contribution to the effective running of UCLH. Their role is to help develop strategy, scrutinise performance and ensure integrity of clinical, financial and other information presented to them. They offer challenge and support, and strengthen engagement with the local community, patients and stakeholders.
Our aim is to recruit a talented individual who will add value to our strong team. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of the diversity of our local healthcare economy
(North Central London), including the needs of patients and of the wider community which we serve. They will demonstrate a commitment to improving the patient experience and the quality of the care we deliver.
Evidence of showing leadership and inspiration, resilience in the face of challenge and the ability to inspire confidence and enthusiasm are also essential. To qualify you must also be resident in one of the London Boroughs.
UCLH places considerable emphasis on diversity at Board level, and particularly encourages applications from appropriately qualified candidates from all sections of the community, and from people with diverse experience and backgrounds.
The successful candidate will be expected to devote up to 2-3 days per month plus some discretionary time for preparation and reading to the role. Remuneration is currently £13,140 per year plus travel and subsistence expenses.
