Are you looking for a rewarding opportunity within education? Tripod is currently recruiting for special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistants and learning support assistants to work in SEN Schools and colleges in and around the London borough of Hackney. We are currently looking for candidates interested in working with students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Severe Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Communication Disorders, Sensory Needs, Physical Needs, and/or Social, Emotional Mental Health Needs. Your main duties will include: ·Inspiring and engaging with young adults with physical and mental difficulties; ·Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis; ·Preparing materials, equipment and lessons; ·Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress; ·Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils; this may include feeding, changing and manual handling; ·Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals. A successful candidate needs to have previous experience of working with SEN students, however these roles would also be suitable for someone looking to further their experience before applying for a PGCE. We are looking for someone with a strong personality and someone who can engage the students after the first day. You must have a strong desire to get involved in every aspect of the school. Experience with children and young adults that have PMLD, SLD & EBD would be preferable. Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS with update service or be willing to apply for a Tripod Education DBS.
