Working for a world renowned flower and vegetable seed breeding company, where you will be responsible for producing high quality plants for research and development purposes. As a grower you will need to work as part of a team, producing high quality plants for research and sometimes commercial trials purposes. The plants are predominantly raised from seed and need to be nurtured, not just up to the point of flowering, but way beyond that through the pollination and harvest phases. The principles are the same as growing any plant, but the longer crop times present more challenges than usual! The general duties involve managing watering and fertilisation, pest and disease management and other general nursery duties. You will be working predominantly in greenhouse environments which can be very hot in summer and cold in winter.
