Your purpose: As part of our Nuclear New Build division, our Project Delivery capability team specialises in tackling some of the most complex engineering projects and opportunities, ranging from technical leadership to project management. With established relationships with major operators in the nuclear sector, we offer a diverse and stimulating array of work within a rapidly evolving team dedicated to supporting new nuclear developments. Our projects span a global scale, with opportunities across the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, encompassing both the Large Civil Nuclear market and emerging New Nuclear Technologies. To support our continued growth in delivering the next generation of Nuclear Power, we are looking for Engineering Managers to join our team. In this role, you will be involved in our Nuclear New Build division, either leading AtkinsRéalis engineering projects or working directly within our clients' programs. We are primarily recruiting for positions in the Bristol and Epsom locations, where you will become part of a diverse team comprising individuals from around the globe. As we assist our clients, you may be required to travel and work from client sites across the UK, depending on the role, project, or secondment. Exceptional people and stakeholder management skills are essential to tackle any challenges that may arise. You should be able to understand the practical, technical, and commercial factors that impact a project and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and project teams, whether they are local to you or spread across multiple locations. Typically, the role and responsibilities of an AtkinsRéalis Engineering Manager will include:
- Consistently delivering on defined margin, schedule, and quality benchmarks.
- Acting as the Project's technical lead, ensuring the most effective delivery approach.
- Facilitating clear communication among teams and stakeholders to manage expectations effectively.
- Leading and managing a diverse group of engineers, technicians, supply chain personnel, and joint venture partners as needed.
- Proactively identifying and mitigating risks while anticipating engineering challenges.
- Taking full responsibility for engineering issues and driving them to resolution.
- Working with colleagues to develop and maintain project timelines, capital budget estimates, cost negotiations, contractual agreements, variation management, procurement, and financial forecasting.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant standards, legislation, and health and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Overseeing the Validation & Verification Plan, Configuration Management Plan, and Digital Execution Plan, ensuring their implementation across the project.

Has an engineering qualification, to at least HND or Degree level. - Possesses outstanding communication and influencing skills, thriving in a dynamic environment with a diverse range of customers and stakeholders.
- Embraces new challenges with enthusiasm and a desire to learn, while also supporting others within our multidisciplinary teams.
- Can effectively manage the commercial and quality performance of complex, multidisciplinary projects, using a variety of techniques to control delivery, quality, costs, and manage risk and change.
- Has a solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation and best practices for addressing health and safety issues.
- Can inspire themselves and their teams, navigate conflicts, and foster a collaborative team culture to meet client needs.
- Is open to traveling within the UK and willing to work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours commitments to meet project and client demands. Preferably:
- Is a Chartered Engineer (desirable).
