Immediate start ** X4 positions **Permanent position SEN Teaching Assistant - Would suit a recent Graduate looking to get into teaching - Schools Direct School - Harrow - Permanent Role - BESD/MLD/ASD - January Start - LSA SEN Teaching Assistant required for the SEN department of a secondary mainstream school in Harrow to start in January for long term contract direct with the school. What does the LSA role entail? The role will involve in class support, 1:1 and mall group intervention work with 11-16 students within a mainstream secondary school environment. The students have a variety of needs but mainly you will be working with learners who struggle in the main school due to emotional and behavioural difficulties (BESD) and moderate learning difficulties. Other SEN needs you will be working with include mild autism (ASD) and Speech and Language difficulties. We are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant with previous experience working with 11-16 year olds with Special Education Needs to join the SEN team starting either in December or January. What about the school? The school is a lively outer London school based in the borough of Harrow, easily commutable from in or outside of London. You will be joining a highly regarded secondary school that has been judged to be good in all areas. As a teaching assistant within the SEN department, you will benefit from a warm and welcoming staff team who enjoy their job. Who are we looking for? It is desirable that applicants hold a degree qualification or equivalent but this is not essential. The ideal teaching assistant will be a recent graduate who is looking to get into teaching in the future. The school has a strong Schools Direct programme and if you are successful in the teaching assistant role this academic year you could be invited to do your teacher training at the school.
