To lead the business strategy for a range of products, identifying opportunities for product and sales development.
To develop and maintain up to date knowledge about the market for the product range, including competitor products, functionality and trends.
To research, understand and prioritise customer requirements in order to inform product development.
May co-ordinate product development activities
To identify potential gaps in the market for new products
To understand product pricing in the market, ensuring that company products are priced competitively.
To translate customer/market needs into specifications for engineering or development projects.
To lead the marketing activities in relation to the product range.
To work closely with other functions in relation to the product range including sales, marketing, engineering, production and support to maximise customer satisfaction.
To plan and organise activities relating to the products eg launches, re-branding etc.
