Two 12 month fixed term positions, full time (37 hours)
The Council’s Development Management service are looking to recruit two temporary Planning Assistants (12 month fixed term contracts).
The role primarily involves being the case officer for a caseload of planning applications and related matters, including dealing with a range of planning related enquiries. This will involve carrying out site visits and therefore, the successful applicant will need to have a full driving licence and access to personal transport.
The successful applicants will hold a Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) recognised degree or diploma in planning, or be educated to degree level with three years practical experience in a Local Planning Authority within a Development Management officer role.
They will also need to demonstrate good interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills, as well as the ability to write clear, precise reports and work to tight deadlines.
