Great Yarmouth
Fixed-term to March 31st 2015
Even though our history shapes the world we live in today, sometimes it can all seem, well, so very long ago – especially for the younger members of society.
That’s why the English Heritage has developed a programme to reconnect school children with the tales from the past that are just down their street.
You’ll create a local Heritage Schools cluster which will find the local stories that will inspire pupils. As a qualified teacher, with plenty of experience in curriculum planning, you’ll already have some brilliant ideas about how to link national events with lessons, and you’ll also be confident developing resources and providing training.
Recent exposure to Advanced Skills Teaching or advisory work would be an advantage.
You’ll be inspiring some important people outside of the classroom too. By building relationships with other heritage agencies, key stakeholders and partners, you’ll ensure that the educational value of this project is recognised.
