CHAIR

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) is a large and influential teaching hospital providing a full range of acute clinical services across Norfolk and North Suffolk.  With its main site on the edge of the cathedral city of Norwich and a smaller newly rebuilt hospital in Cromer, the Trust employs 7,000 staff and volunteers, works with about 100 GPs and serves a population of over 822,000 people across the region.  The NNUH is known for strong performance and delivery against clinical and financial targets and has well-established relationships with the partners such as the University of East Anglia and the Norwich Research Park.

The Trust is now looking for an outstanding individual to join the NNUH as Chair. The successful candidate will lead the Board of Directors, which is made up of executive and non-executive directors, and is responsible for developing, monitoring and delivering the performance of the Trust, and for ensuring that excellence remains at its core.  The Chair will have the confidence, credibility and sensitivity to engage with a wide range of audiences, and will be an inspirational leader capable of leading the Board, the Council of Governors, and the Trust. This individual will bring sophisticated governance experience and will most likely have led a large and complex consumer-facing organisation.  The new Chair will be dedicated to public service and will display a keen enthusiasm and interest in the work of the NNUH.  
The remuneration for this post is £50,000, and the time commitment will be circa 1.5 days per week.
