Archant Suffolk is a regional publishing company that can trace its roots back to 1876 and the first publication of the East Anglian Daily Times. Today it produces two daily ‘paid for’ newspapers that also include the Evening Star, and two weekly free delivered titles, The Advertiser and the West Suffolk Mercury. Archant Suffolk also publishes two quality monthly magazines, Suffolk Business Magazine and EADT Suffolk, a host of other regular publications and a number of websites. We are rightly proud of our products which have been recognised at the National Newspaper Society Awards. The main office is in Ipswich town centre but we also have an office in Bury St Edmunds, Stowmarket and Felixstowe.
The Advertising department is mainly based in Ipswich, although we do have a small number of representatives in our other offices, and consists of a sales force that numbers around 60 staff. It prides itself on its attention to the reader and care of its customers. The department is made up of a mix of Telephone Sales Advisors and Field Sales Advisors who all work towards the common goal of showing the benefits of advertising in our products and ensuring that their customers get the desired response, thus generating repeat business. Our teams also work on sponsorships, sell stands at events, and work in tandem with our media partners. We don’t just sell advertising space. All staff have a clear career progression and are supported with regular training sessions that allow them to develop. Generally we work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Occasionally we may attend events that take place outside of these hours.
